Terran Orbital's Pathfinder-R and Pathfinder-4 Scheduled for Launch

Boca Raton, Fla. - August 16, 2024

Terran Orbital Corporation (NYSE: LLAP) ("Terran Orbital" or "the Company"), a leading provider of satellite-based solutions for the aerospace and defense sectors, today announced that its Pathfinder-R and Pathfinder-4 satellites are scheduled for launch on a SpaceX rocket.

The Pathfinder-R and Pathfinder-4 satellites are part of Terran Orbital's Pathfinder program, which is developing a constellation of small satellites to provide low-cost, high-resolution imagery and data to the U.S. government and commercial customers.

The Pathfinder-R satellite is a 3U CubeSat that will carry a high-resolution camera and an infrared sensor. The Pathfinder-4 satellite is a 6U CubeSat that will carry a synthetic aperture radar (SAR) sensor.

The Pathfinder satellites are designed to provide a variety of data and services, including:

  • High-resolution imagery for mapping, land-use planning, and environmental monitoring
  • Infrared imagery for detecting heat sources, such as wildfires and volcanic activity
  • SAR imagery for creating 3D maps of terrain and detecting changes in the environment

The Pathfinder satellites are scheduled to launch in early 2025. Once in orbit, the satellites will begin collecting data and providing services to the U.S. government and commercial customers.
