About the Mesa Fire and Medical Department
The Mesa Fire and Medical Department (MFMD) was established in 1898.
Today, MFMD serves a population of over 500,000 people across 139 square miles.
MFMD has 21 fire stations and 500 sworn firefighters who respond to emergencies.
Firefighter-Recruit Requirements
Firefighter-Recruits must be able to demonstrate the ability to use fire suppression and emergency medical services skills in accordance with MFMD standards.
Firefighter-Recruits must also be able to engage in fire prevention activities.
