Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World to Temporarily Close Due to Hurricane Ian
Landmark Resort to Shutter as Florida Braces for Storm
Safety of Guests and Cast Members Paramount
LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. -- The Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World will temporarily close as Hurricane Ian approaches the Florida coast, Disney officials announced on Tuesday, September 27.
The closure, which will begin at 5 p.m. Wednesday and end at an unspecified time, is part of Disney's comprehensive storm preparation plan. All other Walt Disney World theme parks, water parks, and hotels will remain open for now.
The decision to close the Magic Kingdom was made "out of an abundance of caution" and with the safety of guests and cast members in mind, according to a Disney spokesperson.
- The closure includes all attractions, restaurants, and shops within the Magic Kingdom.
- Guests who have already purchased tickets for the affected days will be able to get refunds or use their tickets on another date.
- Cast members will be available to help guests with any questions or concerns.
Disney is closely monitoring the path of Hurricane Ian and will provide updates as they become available.
In the meantime, guests are advised to stay informed about the storm and make appropriate preparations.
