Brewers Come Out on Top in High-Scoring Affair

The Milwaukee Brewers and St. Louis Cardinals faced off in a thrilling NL Central showdown on Friday night, with the Brewers emerging victorious with a final score of 10-9.

The game was a back-and-forth affair, with both teams trading runs throughout the contest. The Cardinals struck first in the bottom of the second inning with a solo home run by Nolan Arenado, but the Brewers answered back in the top of the third with a two-run homer by Willy Adames.

The scoring continued in the fourth inning, with the Cardinals tying the game on an RBI single by Lars Nootbaar. However, the Brewers regained the lead in the top of the fifth on a sacrifice fly by Rowdy Tellez.

Brewers' Offense Explodes in Middle Innings

The Brewers broke the game open in the sixth inning, scoring three runs on a double by Adames and a single by Christian Yelich. They added two more runs in the seventh on a home run by Luis Urias, giving them an 8-3 lead.

The Cardinals made a late push in the bottom of the eighth inning, scoring four runs on a grand slam by Paul Goldschmidt. However, the Brewers held on for the win, with Josh Hader striking out the side in the ninth inning.

Brewers Extend NL Central Lead

With the win, the Brewers extended their lead in the NL Central to 2.5 games over the Cardinals. The Brewers are now 54-43 overall, while the Cardinals are 51-45.

Both teams will be back in action on Saturday, with the Brewers hosting the Arizona Diamondbacks and the Cardinals traveling to face the Pittsburgh Pirates.
